iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone models dated to the iPhone 11. In fact, Apple also says that some of its performance indicators are based on tests it conducted with the iPhone 11 lineup.
For example, Apple says that apps launch up to 30% faster with iOS 27. This statistic is based on tests that Apple performed on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, comparing app launch speeds between one version running iOS 26.4.2 and another version running iOS 27.
All this is very impressive — especially for those who use the “old” iPhone. Apple has fixed enough bugs and made the performance jump that I think most iPhone users will notice a big improvement when they install iOS 27 later this year. It’s especially impressive when you consider that Apple has made all of these performance improvements while implementing a new Siri update at the same time.
