If you think back almost 1 year ago from today Apple TV is about to launch a new series called Heaven Starring Jessica Chastain … until it was finally pulled from the schedule, after the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk.
Apple never gave an exact reason for the cancellation of the release, but promised that it will release the series later …
At the time, star Jessica Chastain issued a statement saying she was ‘disagreeable’ with Apple’s decision to postpone the show’s premiere.
However, here we are a year later, and Savant has yet to come out. In fact, if you search for the series in the Apple TV app, the page still reads “Coming Later” and has a horribly outdated 2025 label.
however, Various reports today that the streamer has finally brought the series back to its circle, with a release date set for spring 2027.
The spring launch aims to put the series in prime competition for the next Emmy Awards season, meaning Apple wants all episodes to air sometime before the cutoff date of May 31, 2027.
Of course, Apple could decide to delay the release again as we approach spring. Regardless of Chastain’s thoughts on how The Savant was handled, the actress continued to work with Apple on other upcoming projects, including starring in ‘The Dealer’ with Adam Driver, and alongside Ben Stiller in ‘The Off Weeks’.
