TL; DR
- Google Health 5.09 is now rolling out for iOS and Android.
- The update brings the new Pixel Watch Health Guardian features announced yesterday.
- We’re also getting a few updates on activity registration and custom food.
As Friday is fast approaching, how is your weekend looking? Do you curl up on the couch and watch serious reality TV? Or get active, work up a good sweat, and be outside? If your idea of a good weekend leans more on the healthy side, we’ve got good news for you as you learn about the latest updates coming to Google Health.
We are looking at the release Google Health 5.09 For Android and iOS, and the big news we mentioned earlier this week: the new Pixel Watch Health Guardian features. Owners of the Pixel Watch 3, 4, and 5 will find their wearables can monitor blood pressure, identify trends in insulin resistance, and provide new data on the quality of sleep breathing.
You don’t need a Pixel Watch to get something out of this Google Health update, even Garmin and Apple Watch models have new support: the ability to sync workouts and contribute to their cardio load. If the wearable measures your heart rate, Google Health can take advantage of that.
Speaking of workouts, the app gets new options for how you log activities in the fitness section and fixes a bug that caused old steps to not display correctly.
Finally, if you use the Health app to track your food intake, the app improves the way you enter serving units and meal times for custom food items, as well as fixes several issues related to them on iOS.
Look for Google Health 5.09 coming to your device soon.
