Apple’s key MacBook Pro The overhaul is just around the corner, and should be launched within a month or so. It will be the first touchscreen MacBook, as well as the first with Tandem OLED. Beyond that, though, the new MacBooks should be ‘significantly’ lighter than their predecessors, according to The latest edition of the Power On newsletter.
The newsletter also reiterated that the new MacBook Pro Should launch ‘next month,’ so we should see these new machines before the end of November. These machines should offer the current M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, as Apple has chosen to skip the higher end of the M6 family to accelerate the launch of the M7.
The new MacBook Pro will be lighter
Despite the fact that these MacBooks have been rumored for some time, we still don’t know too much about them apart from the specs on paper: OLED, touch, Dynamic Island, etc. In the past, the report explained that the computer is thinner, but we do not have much sight. We haven’t, but we do have important new details about what this machine will feel like:
The new MacBook Pros are lighter — A lot Lighter. Apple has modified small internal parts of the machine and rearranged components to make the computer much easier. The current 16-inch MacBook Pro weighs 4.8 pounds, compared to 3.3 pounds for the 15-inch MacBook Air, so any meaningful reduction is immediately noticeable.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman It’s not specified how light it will be, but if you’re a current MacBook Pro user, especially the 16-inch model, you might find it heavier than you’d like. Apple is reportedly working to improve it.
In addition, Gurman also said despite some changes in macOS Golden Gate to support touch and Dynamic Island, along with the release of macOS 27.2.
