Shure’s MV6 USB microphone is designed to take computer gaming to the next level

Shure has introduced the MV6 Gen 2 USB Gaming Microphone, which brings advanced audio processing and noise reduction features to gamers and streamers to capture clearer audio without a complicated setup process.

The new entry-level microphone draws inspiration from Shure’s professional SM7 and MV7 models, combining a cardioid dynamic capsule with built-in digital sound processing. The microphone connects via a USB-C cable and works with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices.

One of the greatest features of the MV6 is the adjustable auto level mode. It can automatically manage microphone gain to keep sounds consistent as users switch between quiet conversations and louder gaming moments. There’s also a real-time denoiser that filters out background noise and helps keep unwanted sounds out of your recordings with adjustable intensity.

Shure has also incorporated Digital Popper Stopper technology, which reduces the harsh popping sounds caused by individual consonants without a physical pop filter.

For those who want more control over their sound, the MV6 Gen 2 offers a five-band equalizer and three preset voices for speaking, singing and instruments. Users can adjust these settings through Shure’s MOTIV apps on both desktop and mobile devices, and presets can be saved across devices.

The microphone also features a one-touch mute button that can be disabled to prevent accidental muting, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for lag-free monitoring. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the user’s voice from surrounding noise, making it suitable for streaming, gaming and video calling.

In terms of hardware, the MV6 Gen 2 uses a 24-bit, 48kHz converter and supports sound pressure levels up to 128dB SPL. It comes in black and white, a matching desktop stand is included in the package to reduce vibration, and a USB-C cable is included in the box.

The Shure MV6 Gen 2 is now available via Shure’s official website, priced at $169 / £159.
