Update: October 9, 2026 (12:23 PM ET): An Amazon representative reached out Android Authority with the following statement:
When the device is in dark mode, with maximum brightness on the dark setting, customers should be able to see the glow around the edges of the book. However, this was expected to achieve our color fringe and appears in certain situations, such as dark mode with high brightness. If customers want to reduce this glare, we recommend trying the dimming setting in dark mode.
