Amazon’s new Alexa tablet finally gives the new iPad some much-needed competition

This week, Amazon Launch a new series of Alexa tablets. They no longer use a proprietary OS with a custom App Store, and instead take Android with a stock feel – while offering the Play Store. It’s a big change in direction for Amazon. The tablet still looks great, while previous tablets felt cheap. I think these have a chance to do well.

First of all, I want to make it clear that I am not talking iPad Is doomed or anything remotely close to that. However, I think Alexa tablet Act as a true form of iPad competition, which the iPad has generally lacked.

The new Alexa tablet serves as a strong competition

Amazon is putting a lot of thought into these tablets that other Android manufacturers don’t, and while these tablets come at a low price – they certainly punch well above their weight class.

There are three Alexa tablets that will start out of the lineup: an The 8.7″ version costs $229a The 11-inch model costs $329and a The 12-inch Pro version costs $499. For me, the one in the middle is the most interesting.

It offers 8GB of RAM, a 90Hz display, a thin design, and a similarly sharp display. That compares with Budget iPadWhich comes in at $120 higher with less RAM, a smaller display, and a thicker design. Granted, yes iPad There is an A16 chip, which may feel faster than the MediaTek chip that uses it. Yes iPad Also starting at 128GB, compared to 64GB in Alexa tablet. When you upgrade Alexa tablet up to 128GBThere is only a $70 difference.

Hardware wise, yes Alexa tablets Seems pretty capable. Of course, Android on a tablet won’t be perfect, but with Alexa and the fact that tablets are priced so well, I can see a lot of people wanting to buy these, even if they’re considering it. iPads. Of course, one strong package from Amazon is the Kindle experience, and these things Alexa tablets Offers a reader mode that cuts blue light.

Wrap up

Only time will tell, but Amazon may make a big splash in the tablet market with its new lineup. Although The 12-inch size costs $499 Looks like a really good value product. At least, I hope some strong competition means that Apple will be less satisfied with it iPad Upgrade. For example, iPad Air Most have received chip upgrades since the last design in 2020.

I’m personally excited to try one of these and really put it to the test. Currently, Amazon also offers 20% off with Trade in anyMake it a better deal.

What do you think of these new things? Alexa tablets? Would you consider getting one of these for a friend or family member during the holidays? Sound off in the comments.
