Apple will announce a new smart home hub on Tuesday called HomeView. According to Mr. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.
Over the past few years, we have seen many reports that Apple is working on a new smart home product, but now it seems that the product has a name and a launch date. Gurman described HomeView as a Siri-enabled device with a display and A18 chip, allowing customers to control their other smart home devices.
HomeView will reportedly be available in two models – one designed for countertops and the other to be mounted on walls.
This will be Apple’s most serious bet in the smart home to date, after it failed to pull in much traction for its HomeKit software framework or its HomePod smart speaker.
Gurman reports that on Tuesday, Apple will also release updated versions of two other home devices, the Apple TV set-top box and the HomePod mini. Earlier this week, he said Apple plans to announce a partnership with LG to create smart locks, thermostats, and doorbells.
