TL; DR
- Two pairs of Samsung smart glasses have been found in the FCC database.
- The smart glasses come with model numbers SM-O200J and SM-O200P.
- Both styles of smart glasses come in several variants.
Samsung has been working on smart glasses for a long time, which could end up with the Meta offerings. We got a taste of what to expect earlier this year during the company’s summer Unpacked event. Like Meta’s partnership with Ray-Ban, Samsung is teaming up with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster for its designs. While there is still more to learn about these smart glasses, the FCC listings offer some new information.
Noticed Droid LifeSamsung’s smart glasses stalled at the FCC (1, 2). Rosette found two listings in the database for two different styles of smart glasses. One for Warby Parker’s pair and the other for Gentle Monster.
The documents show the model numbers SM-O200J and SM-O200P. The SM-O200J is a Gentle Monster model, while the SM-O200P is suspected to be a Warby Parker design. Both pairs of smart glasses will come in several variants.
There will be four additional models for the SM-O200P: SM-O201P, SM-O202P, SM-O203P and SM-O204P. Additionally, there will be five versions of the SM-O200J: SM-O201J, SM-O202J, SM-O203J, SM-O204J and SM-O205J.
Samsung is expected to launch its smart glasses later this year. However, no exact launch date has been announced yet. A look at the FCC suggests that an announcement may not be far off. There are also many questions about price and availability.
