Steam players rated Total War: Shogun 2 remaster as “Strongly Negative” because the original is being removed from the list.

Resume

  • Total War: Shogun 2 – Full Edition launched with poor performance and bugs, the original was pulled from sales.

  • Users are reporting enhanced AI assets, new bugs, and the loss of Steam Workshop support.

  • Launch reviews are overwhelmingly negative (19% positive); discount for owners is limited in time.

If you’re going to release a remixed version of your game, you need to make sure it performs and looks better than the game you’re remixing. If you can’t guarantee that, leaving the original for people to play will help a lot in the long run. I think

The creative assembly could not fully capture the memories of the release Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition Adds new bugs with AI-generated guesswork and expanded assets, and $10 more than the original, which has since been removed.

Total War: Shogun 2 – The Complete Edition received very negative reviews upon launch

An embarrassing sight

shogun 2 full reviews

As noticed GamesRadarfull edition Total War: Shogun 2 It’s off to a rough start. It is advertised as an update for 64-bit PCs with “Improved visuals, updated lighting, shadows and textures” alongside 50 new playable minor factions. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have worked as the score now stands at 19% positive, making it very negative.

So what happened? Who better to ask than the people who played it? One reviewer called Shukaku, shared his thoughts:

The whole point of the community wanting to port these “old” games to 64-bit is stability and performance where the game fails. Instead, they hacked the Steam Workshop support game and it performs significantly worse than other modern titles (3K and WH3). They delisted the original game and repackaged it as a new “Complete Edition” at a higher price. Also, the “rebate” is only for 1 month for previous Shogun 2 owners, so there’s no guarantee they’ll fix all the issues before it runs out. Total shame.

Shukaku also reports a decent 60 FPS during battle scenes, but less than 40fps in the campaign screen. They note that this is measured at the beginning of the game, before the factions start building their armies, which means FPS can drop as the game goes on.

On the Total War subreddit, people are saying that the textures may have been enhanced with AI. Someone posted special example someone’s face seems to melt into a metal triangle. Very strange.

Unfortunately, until all the negatives are fixed, it seems that way Shogun 2 absolutely forbidden for newcomers; There isn’t even an older version that people can get instead. Hopefully the developers can fix all the bugs soon.
